With over 35 years in the industry, he began his career working for his father in the late 80s at the Powerscreen Dealer of Texas and the surrounding states. When presented with the opportunity to gain experience outside of Texas, he began his journey internationally. He took on the challenge in Canada, Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, North, and South America. It would later prove to be invaluable in leading a world-class operation today in La Grange, Texas.
Born in Coalisland, Ireland, he is the second eldest of nine with six brothers and two sisters. From an early age, he soon realized he was drawn into this industry. His passion for learning all he could by staying up to date with the latest technologies in material processing and conveying systems innovations, Paul took every opportunity to travel the world working and learning among leaders in the industry.
In 1995 Paul took a position with Michigan Cat, at the time one of the largest dealers in the nation, as Aggregate Equipment Sales Manager. He was soon exposed to an amazing world built on service and product support. During this time, Paul recognized that customer services was truly a game-changer in the world of screening crushing and conveying. After almost a decade of building this territory, it was time to return to his Texas roots.
In early 2002 he joined his father and brothers at McCourt Equipment as partner and Sales Manager. The business had a solid foundation with a loyal customer following, and Paul worked closely with the organization to learn insights and to share his industry best practices to strengthen the already thriving business. Together they built one of the premier equipment organizations in North America specializing in screening, crushing, conveying, washing, composting, and recycling. In 2006, Paul took on the leadership role as the company’s president.
With the strongest skilled and most knowledgeable team in the industry today, it goes without saying the principle to treat others the way you would like the be treated is how Paul leads the organization. Whether it is a customer, employee, or personally, this is the way he continues to lead successfully.
